Set in a small Filipino town during World War II, Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita tells the story of Inya, her husband Edilberto, and their friend Ignacio who is a transwoman who fell  in love with a Japanese soldier. As war erupts, their lives are torn between love, loyalty, and survival, revealing the deep personal costs of conflict and identity in a time of national crisis.
